Range of Application

311nm narrow-band UVB is more suitable for patients with white patches of large areas, especially for patients with generalized vitiligo. The 308nm excimer laser is more suitable for vitiligo patients of small areas and limited type, only irradiating the parts of patients where have white patches, will not harm the patients’ normal skin.

Safety

The 308nm excimer laser is safer and less likely to cause side effects to patients. The treatment can be used for groups like infants, pregnant women etc; Even the more sensitive parts of the body can be treated with 308nm excimer laser, such as vitiligo around the eyes.
