1. The “Pathogenesis” of Vitiligo

Although the pathogenesis of vitiligo is various and complex, through the clinical detection of vitiligo patients, there is a widespread phenomenon exist in the body of vitiligo patients, which is the continuously reduction of the melanin formation ability. The mainly causes of this reduction include:

1) The self-destruction factors of melanophore

2) The internal secretion factors

3) The nerve and biochemical factors

4) The factors of autoimmunity

5) The injure of free radical

6) The oxidative stress of epidermis

7) The lack of tyrosine or copper ion

8) Genetic or infectious factors

5. Teenager-- The High Risk Group of Vitiligo

According to the researches, the teenagers are more possible than adults to get the vitiligo. Discovered through a lot of clinical data, the reason for teenagers that easier to get the vitiligo, is the unstable of their nerve and endocrine system that caused by the body and mental development. Besides, the teenagers are easier to be influenced by the change of immunity system, nutrition, and environment. The above reasons led the teenagers are more possible than adults to get the vitiligo.

6. Is the Vitiligo a Blood Disease?

From the pathogenesis of vitiligo, vitiligo is a local or universal depigmentation that caused by the reduce or disappear of melanin. The reduction of melanin usually caused by the decrease of the activity of tyrosinase inside of melanophore. Therefore, the vitiligo is not directly related to the blood according to the theory. However, the records showed, the changes of immunity system and nerve and endocrine system could exist on vitiligo patients, and it will led something abnormal in the test of blood.

According to the research result, the abnormal result of blood test is not enough to indicate the vitiligo is a blood disease.
